Data Recovery Policy
Last updated: 14 July 2026
1. Legitimate Data Only
Hire IT Expert provides data-recovery services for legitimately owned data only. We may request verification of device ownership or authority.
2. Initial Assessment
An initial assessment determines the type of failure (logical or physical) and the likely recovery options. This assessment may involve connecting the storage media to diagnostic equipment.
3. Logical and Physical Recovery
Logical recovery addresses file-system corruption, accidental deletion, or formatting errors. Physical recovery addresses hardware faults and may require specialist laboratory facilities.
4. Specialist Partners
Some data-recovery cases may be referred to specialist laboratory partners with clean-room facilities. Customer consent will be obtained before transferring media to a third party.
5. Recovery Limitations
Data recovery is not guaranteed. Recovery success depends on the extent and type of damage, prior usage after data loss, and storage-media condition. Recovery attempts may worsen existing damage.
6. Confidentiality
Recovered data is treated as confidential. Technicians and partners should not access, copy, or distribute recovered data beyond what is necessary for the recovery process.
7. Secure Data Return
Recovered data is returned to the customer on replacement storage media or via an approved secure transfer method. Replacement storage may be charged separately.
8. Customer Review Period
Customers should review recovered data promptly and confirm that the required files have been successfully recovered.
9. Unrecoverable Media
Where data cannot be recovered, the customer will be informed. The original storage media is returned unless disposal is authorised by the customer.
10. Services Not Provided
Hire IT Expert does not provide cryptocurrency recovery, financial-transaction reversal, stolen-funds recovery, or unlawful account access services.
11. Disposal
Storage media is only disposed of with explicit customer permission.
